Gigs past and future

Another exhilerating show under our belt… there’s something about gigging with The Program Initiative that brings out the good competitive streak in me, even though a show like ‘Mercury’ is nigh-on unbeatable. Still, this time I had the assistance of Ben McLees of [this is radio silence] on guitar and Adrian Giddings from Cunabula Press assisting on visuals, so I was able to give those Southampton boys a damn good run for their money..!

This was also the first gig with the Magic Eggs – for what is now becoming a tradition, the gig began in installation style, with the audience triggering sounds with torches, playing the egg-shaped sensors and triggering drones and visuals for the first song and utterly destroying the final song in the same manner.

Mr. Giddings has gone above and beyond the call of duty and captured the whole thing on video for your listening and viewing pleasure, and set up a Vimeo channel for temp0rary so you can enjoy a version of the gig even if you weren’t there yourself:

So, it was mutually agreed over a Guinness breakfast that we will be doing more of these in the future, so we’ll be doing our best to book some gigs in unusual locations over the next few weeks. If you would like to host a temp0rary event or know a promoter who might be able to offer us a stage, a venue or a flat surface and a generator, please get in touch.

We have 2 more gigs this year confirmed – the first is on Friday September 21st at Frogfest, in a tent at the Frog & Fiddle, Cheltenham. It’s likely that this will be something a bit different from temp0rary as it’s an early gig, so we’ll be finding out more and building a show to fit the space. The second is also at he Frog & Fiddle on 28th December, and will be a more conventional line-up for us… whatever that is these days.
