Kits

Here at Bleephaus, we found it quite challenging to find an entry-point into DIY electronics – either kits were too simple without explanations of what was being built and little room for experimentation, or they were too complicated, assuming too much prior knowledge, using confusing schematics and being hard to troubleshoot if things went wrong.

So, we bit the bullet and started to build our own, which you can buy and assemble at Bleephaus events, and will shortly be putting up for sale via mail order.

Our ethos is:

- Keep it simple.
Full colour manual with step by step instructions written in clear English provided with each kit.

- Keep it safe.
Kits use breadboards and require no soldering – it’s like Lego™ for electronics.

- Learn from mistakes.
By not soldering components, it’s much easier to identify problems, move components and put things where they belong.

- Encourage experimentation.
You built it, now break it! The instructions will give you options for alternative set-ups and will hopefully inspire you to come up with your own. Our kits also contain the very basics of electronics should you wish to take things further.

- It’s all in the bag.
Everything you need is in the bag to make the kits and the variations in the manual.
So far there are 2 kits available:

BL01 – Bleephaus Kit 1: 555-based “Atari Punk Console” synth (currently out of stock), October 2013

BL02 – Bleephaus Kit 2: Hex Schmitt based synth, May 2014

In the near future  we hope to expand our range to include a simple sequencer, filter and amplifier which you will be able to combine to generate more musical (or noisy) results!
